Chapter Thirteen

Mick

Those five little words, spoken so sweetly, rocked me to my core.

All I need is you.

No one in my life had ever just needed me. They’d taken what they wanted, seen what I’d shown them, but at the end of the day, they needed things I could do for them. Not Alisa. My salvation. The only light in my life.

A rumble in my chest was the only warning she received before I picked her up and made my way to the king-sized bed.

She didn’t know what she was asking for, or what she’d get, but I was tired of fighting my own demons when it came to her. The need to posses her far outweighed my reservations for holding back.

I tossed her on the bed, pinning her body down with mine, and began kissing her as I removed my jacket. My knee nudged her thighs open as she helped unbutton my shirt then I grabbed her wrists and held them to the bed above her.

“Keep your hands there, Alisa, don’t move.”

She grabbed at me when I tried to shift away from her. I growled and held her wrists to the bed again, my other hand going to her throat.

Her movements settled after a moment of holding her in place.

I needed this dominance. Needed her complete and utter surrender. My life was already a hurricane of things I couldn’t control, and this was always going to be my domain from the moment I met her.

Unbuttoning my pants as I stood up, I reached for the light and turned it on. She lay on her back, blinking at the light, arms resting on the blanket above her. The darkness might have worked any other time, but this was the last woman I knew I’d be taking to my bed, and I needed to see her.

She stared up at me with so many questions in the blue depths of her eyes that I knew I couldn’t answer. A better man, the man I might have been a year ago, before all the cases and cruelty had taken hold of me, would have left. Even if it meant breaking her heart right now. That man might have seen early on how foolish it was to fall in love with a sweet girl, knowing the shadows that lurked within me.

But I wasn’t that man and I needed her more than she’d ever know.

Removing my clothing hastily, I kept my eyes on her face. If she had any reservations she didn’t show them as my hands glided up her legs to the bottom of her dress. I both loved and hated the damn thing as it slid from her body. A body that was only mine to admire, and the dress didn’t leave much to the imagination.

I leaned over her when the last of it was off and slid my hand around her back to unhook her bra. When she was finally naked in front of me I listened to her unsteady breathing, gazed at her chest as it rose and fell with anticipation.
